Joan N. Kimes, 80 of Streator passed away Tuesday evening (July 12th) at St. Mary's Hospital.
A visitation will be held on Friday from 8:30AM -9:30AM at the Winterrowd Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Friday at 9:30AM at the funeral home. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.
Joan was born August 6, 1930 in Streator to Michael and Theresa (Mootz) Mallick.
She married Robert D. Kimes on August 20, 1949. He passed away on April 13, 2006.
Surviving is daughter Joann Kimes of Streator, sisters, Theresa Zito of Streator, Carol Wargo of Largo, FL, Betty (Zane) Bixby of Utah, Sister- in- laws, Doris (Ervin) Geyer of Streator and Phyllis Scarbeary of TN brother - in -law Harold Grant of Streator, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by 3 brothers, Robert and Richard Mallick and George in infancy, 2 sisters, Doris Grant and Celestine in infancy.
Joan attended St. Mary's grade school and Streator High School.
She was a member of the former Immaculate Conception Church and a member of St. Michael the Archangel Church.
Joan was formerly employed at Paris Garter Factory, Northside Super Dairy, and Dan Howard Company in Streator.
She enjoyed gardening, cooking and baking.
Memorials may be directed to the charity of the donor's choice.
