Jason Berry, 49 of Long Point passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday (January 7, 2020) at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.
Visitation will be held Saturday from 10 AM until 1 PM at the Winterrowd Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 1PM at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Long Point Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Marion and Brad Johnson, Kevin Porter, Jake McMenamin, Kenny Rhein and Kenny Eutsey.
Jason was born on June 12, 1970 in Streator to John and Judy (Johnson) Berry.
He married Shari Armstrong on May 27, 1995. She survives.
Surviving is his wife, Shari Berry of Long Point, daughters, Alisha (Vincent) Chan of Robinson, and Amanda (Nikolai) Beyer of Long Point, mother, Judy Berry of Streator, sisters, Carla (Bill) Finlen of Lexington and Carmin (Brian) Craft of Streator, uncle, Marion Johnson of Reading, aunt, Dorothy (Mac) McDermaid of Streator, father-in-law, Thomas Armstrong of Streator, sister-in-law, Debbie (Kevin) Porter of Streator, brothers-in-law, Tom (Amy) Armstrong of San Tan Valley, AZ and Eddie (Tisha) Armstrong of Streator, several nieces, nephews and cousins and his four legged best friend, Max.
He is preceded in death by his father, John, mother-in-law, Karen Armstrong, maternal grandparents, Clarence and Maxine Johnson and paternal grandparents, Harold and Hazel Berry.
Jason graduated from Woodland High School in 1990. He was employed with Ruff Brothers Grain Elevator in Wenona and formerly with Bill Walsh in Streator.
Jason was a loving husband and dad who enjoyed spending time with his family. He didn’t know a stranger and was always willing to help anyone with anything. He was a wonderful person and friend. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, snowmobiling and spending time outdoors. Jason enjoyed having coffee every morning with Joe Moline and Ronnie Volk.
He will be loved and missed by everyone that knew him. We will carry his memory with us always.
Memorials may be directed to the American Diabetes Association or the American Cancer Society.
