Janice L. Ruff

Janice L. Ruff, 85 of rural Streator passed away Friday evening (December 1, 2023) at the Inn @ Evenglow, Pontiac.

Private family services will be held with burial in Long Point Cemetery.

Janice was born on July 6, 1938, in Streator to Walter and Uretta (Werner) Barickman.  She married Jerry Ruff on April 14, 1957.  He survives.

Also surviving are, John (Laura) Ruff of Long Point, Janeen (Jim) Tronc of Pontiac, Jeffrey Ruff of Streator and Jesse (Melissa) Ruff of Streator, grandchildren, David (Allie) Ruff, Emily (Patrick) Seaman, Janelle (Andrew) Navis, Matthew (Skye) Tronc, Olivia, Alexandra and Carter Ruff, great grandchildren, Ava and Kate Ruff, Mason and Bodie Navis, brothers Jim (Jude) Barickman of Ancona and Kenneth (Marianne) Barickman of Switzerland, sisters Ramona Harris of Pontiac, Luanne (Randy) Winterrowd of Ancona, Julie (Patrick) Pleiman of Matthews, NC, and Lisa (Tom) Woods of Sunrise, FL and several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents and a brother-in-law Raleigh Harris.

Janice attended Ramee Grade School and Long Point High School and graduated from Woodland High School in 1956. She attended Illinois State University.  Janice was a member of the Long Point United Methodist Church.

Memorials may be made in her name to the Alzheimer’s Association, Long Point United Methodist Church or a charity of the donors choice.
