Howard D. Hedrick

Howard Dale Hedrick, 89 of Streator passed away Saturday morning (May 16, 2026) at OSF Center for Health, Streator.

Born on July 29, 1936, in Streator to Ellis G. and Alma (Mitchell) Hedrick. He married Joan Ryals and they later divorced. He then married Sharon Cyphers on May 27, 1972. She survives.

Also surviving are son, Howard B. Hedrick of Owensboro, KY, step son Jeffrey (April) Cyphers of Pigua, OH, grandchildren, Trevor (Sara) Hedrick, Candance Hedrick and Matthew (Monica) Hedrick, 4 step grandchildren, great grandchildren, Haleigh Skaggs and Brian Hedrick, 4 step great grandchildren, sister, Nita Hedrick of Oregon City, OR, sister in law, Debra (Amando Pineda) Cyphers of Antelope, CA and several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, daughter in law Illa Faye Hedrick, sisters, Inez Heusel, Gen Haynes, Wilma Hedrick, Carol Thomas and Avis Harcharik, brothers, Glen, Virl and Larry Hedrick, brother in law, Ronald Cyphers.

Howard attended Streator Grade and High School. Later earned his GED. He served in the US Navy, then he was a Teamsters truck driver working for F.S., Inc, CW Transport and he retired from Consolidated Freightways on November 1, 1995.

Private family services will be held with burial in Riverview Cemetery.
