Harry C. Hefler, 84 of Streator passed away Friday morning (Oct. 14th) at his home.
Following cremation rites, a visitation will be held Tuesday at 1PM at the Winterrowd Funeral Home. Services will be held at 2PM at the funeral home with burial following in Hillcrest Memorial Park with full military honors conducted by members of the Streator American Legion and VFW.
Harry was born on January 10, 1927 in Streator to Harry J. and Olga (Windus) Hefler. He married Jean Bennett on May 17, 1943 she passed away on March 31, 2007.
Surviving are daughters Juanita (Tom) Case of Blackstone and Lisa Gonzalez of Streator, several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, sons Harry D. and David C. Hefler, daughter Lori Sue Kennedy and a sister Juanita Hefler.
Harry had served in the US Army 9th Air Force during WWII in Okinawa. He was a member of the St. Paul's Lutheran Church and was formerly employed at Dell's Appliance Store and owned and operated Helfer Appliance Repair for 40 years.
Memorials may be directed to the family of Harry C. Hefler.
