Gerald P. Bauer, 78 of Long Point passed away Tuesday evening (November 7, 2023) at his home.

Following cremation, a visitation will be held Friday (Nov. 17th) from 10AM until 12noon at the Winterrowd Funeral Home with funeral services being held at noon with military honors being conducted by members of the Streator American Legion and VFW.

Jerry was born on October 7, 1945, in Streator to Lyle and Lois (Cool) Bauer.  He married Carol Alderson on May 8, 2002.  She survives.

Also surviving are children, Russ Kerr of Kentucky, Randi Viola of Tennessee, Bobby Crawford, Jeremy Bauer of Manville, Carrie (Steven) Hidden of Pontiac and Jesse Alderson of Pontiac, 20 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren, brother Robert (Mary) Bauer of Streator and sister Marilyn (Ned) Champlain of Streator and several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, stepdaughter Angela Alderson, great granddaughter Layla Holofchak.

Jerry attended Streator grade school and Streator High School.  He retired from Laborers Local 393, he was of the methodist faith.
