Gale Ray Leonard III

July 9, 2004 — November 12, 2025

Streator

Gale “Lil G” Leonard III passed away Wednesday, November 12, 2025, at the young age of 21.

Gale “Lil G” was known to many for his quick wit and his incredibly big heart. From a young age, Gale had a natural curiosity and talent for mechanics — he loved taking things apart and putting them back together just to understand how they worked. His passion for vehicles and his wealth of knowledge made him the go-to person for anyone needing help or advice.

Gale never met a stranger and was always willing to lend a hand to friends, family, or anyone in need. His presence brought laughter, warmth, and light to every room he entered. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Gale leaves behind his mother and stepfather, LaTosha and Jon Millirons of Flanagan; his father and stepmother, Gale Jr. and Delissa Leonard of Streator; siblings Lea Lani Moran of Flanagan, Ryley, Wyatt, David, Dayna, Dezarhea, Derick, and Daisy, all of Streator; and Jacob and Brandon Millirons of Pontiac.

He is also survived by his maternal grandparents Fran (Rick) Clayton of Streator and Cliff (Benita) of Searcy, Arkansas; paternal grandparents Gale Sr. and Liza Leonard of Streator; and step-grandparents Bruce (Shannon) Brand of Flanagan and Sheri Millirons of Cornell. He leaves behind many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews and countless friends who loved him dearly.

Gale also shared a special bond with his pets — his dog Stevie Nix and his ferrets — who were constant companions.

A 2022 graduate of Flanagan High School, Gale was known for his humor, his honesty, and his ability to give both advice and a good laugh. He took great pride in his trucks, especially the one he affectionately named after his late great-grandfather, “Ruby.”

Gale was employed at Auto Zone in Streator where he made so many friends with the staff and customers.

Gale was preceded in death by two stillborn siblings and his beloved dog, Stella.

Though his time on Earth was short, Gale’s life was full of love, laughter, and meaning. His legacy will live on in the hearts of everyone who knew and loved him.

A visitation will be held Tuesday (Nov. 18th) from 4 – 7 P.M. with services following at the Winterrowd Funeral Home. Cremation rites will follow services.
