Frankie Mae Broadus

Frankie Mae Broadus, 78 of Streator passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 14, 2024, at her home with her loving family by her side.

Funeral services will be Friday, April 19, 2024, at noon at the Winterrowd-Hagi Funeral Home, Streator.   Visitation will be 2 hours prior to the services at the funeral home.  Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery, Streator immediately following services.  Pall bearers will be Larry Hood, Tevin Williams, Joshua Wilinski, Ashley Broadus, Todd Mangruem and Brandon Mangruem.  Honorary pallbearers will be Trenton McLaughlin, Patrick Williams, Christoper Williams, Victor Wilinski, Brent Miller, and Joshua Smoak.   Memorials may be made to the family.

Frankie was born on October 25, 1945, at Clarksdale, MS to Rufus and Ellen (Hall) Mcintosh.  She lived in Streator with her lifelong partner Robert Huitt.  He survives.   She had 6 children: Ronald Broadus of Bloomington, Ricky Broadus (Deceased), Frances Broadus of Bloomington, Bobby Huitt of CA, Jackie Huitt of Kankakee, and Trudi Lopez of Los Angelos, 6 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.  She is also survived by 3 sisters: Leeoniar Fletcher of Rockford, Earlene Willimas of Streator, and Geraldine McIntosh of Streator and numerous nieces and nephews who all loved her dearly.

Frankie attended First Baptist Church of Streator.  She worked at Parker Nursing Home (formerly Camelot Manor) for many years where she was a supervisor.  When she retired, she loved to work in her yard and being with her family members. There wasn’t a holiday that she didn’t prepare a feast for all her family and friends.   You never left there hungry.  

She was preceded in death by her parents, her son Ricky, her brother Wesley McIntosh, brothers-in-law, Carl Fletcher and Charles Williams and her nephew Michael Williams.  She will be missed by everyone who came to know and love her.
