Frank J. Katanich Sr., 79 of Streator passed away Saturday morning (Jan. 22nd) at St. Mary's Hospital.
Visitation will be held Wednesday from 5 - 7PM at the Winterrowd Funeral Home. Memorial services will be held at 7PM at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Riverview Cemetery at a later date.
Frank was born August 27, 1931 in Oglesby, IL to George and Gladys (O'Neal) Katanich. He married Rose M. Walters on April 1, 1956 she passed away April 14, 2006.
Surviving are children Frank Katanich Jr. of Streator, Bill Katanich of Elkhorn, WI, Kathy Rogers of Streator, Penny (Gino) Marcum of Pineville, MO and Christine Berninger of Pontiac, IL, 6 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, sister's Mary Lou Lanning and Margaretta Jackson, step- brother James Lurz.
Frank retired from Thatcher Glass in 1992 and was formerly employed at Bumper to Bumper. He was a avid bowler for many years bowling with TMC and was a avid fisherman and mechanic. He attended Streator High School.
Memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society.
