Fern M. Anderson, 95 of Streator passed away Friday morning (Sept. 23rd) at Heritage Manor Nursing Home.
Visitation will be held Wednesday from 10 - 12Noon at the Winterrowd Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 12Noon at the funeral Home. Serving as pallbearers will be Tim, Scott, Jason and Sam Anderson, Dawn Lucas, Kimberly and Chip Tinder. Burial will be in the Oakwood Memorial Park Cemetery, Ottawa.
Fern was born on August 2, 1916 in rural Pontiac to Guy and Doretta (Mai) Finkenbinder. She married Arthur S. Anderson on February 17, 1939. He passed away on June 16, 1987.
Surviving are children Dorann (Daniel) Perry of Ft. Meyers, FL, James (Shirley) Anderson of Springfield, IL, Keith (Pamela) Anderson of Streator, 5 grandchildren, Dawn (James) Lucas, Tim (Libby) Anderson, Jason Anderson, Kimberly (Chip) Tinder and Scott (Jessica) Anderson, 9 great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, granddaughter and great-granddaughter in infancy and a brother Austin Finkenbinder.
Fern was Director of Nursing at the Pleasant View Luther Home in Ottawa and retired from Heritage Manor Nursing Home, Streator as Administrator in 1979. She was a member of the St. Paul's Lutheran Church and church activities, Zonta and Christian Women's Club. Fern graduated from Cornell High School and Ryburn Memorial Hospital School of Nursing in Ottawa as an RN.
In lieu of flowers memorial may be directed to a charity of the donors' choice.
