Ervin G. Geyer

Ervin G. Geyer, 93 of Streator passed away Sunday morning (Jan. 11th) at Heritage Health, Streator.
A visitation will be held Wednesday from 12:30 until 2PM at the Winterrowd Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2PM at the funeral home. Burial will be in Phillips Cemetery.
Ervin was born on April 25, 1921 in Beltrami County, Minnesota to Franklin Leroy and Minnie Ettie (Helsel) Geyer. He married Doris Kimes on July 19, 1945, she survives.
Also surviving are sons Randall (Joy) Geyer of W. Allis, WI, Sean Geyer of Streator, daughter Marcia Sorenson of St. Louis, MO, 5 grandchildren, Ahren, Mark, Troy, Tim and Melissa, 1 great-grandson , 1 great-granddaughter, and a sister Jessie Cervelli – Roberts, IL.
He is preceded in death by brothers William, Glen, John and Leland Geyer, and a sister Dorothy Hinman.
Ervin attended Parsons College in Iowa and was a veteran of WWII serving in the 541st Infantry Paratroopers. He retired from Harnischfeger in Milwaukee, WI and was a member of the Central Church of Christ Streator, he also served as Otter Creek Trustee and Assessor.
Memorials may be made to a charity of the donors’ choice.
