Edward E. Olesen

Edward E. Olesen, Sr 83, of Streator, passed away Wednesday morning (September 4, 2019) at his home.

A memorial visitation will be held on Monday from 9- 11am at the Winterrowd Funeral Home. Memorial services will be held on Monday at 11am at the funeral home. 

Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park at a later date.  Honorary Pallbearers will be his family.

Ed was born on September 11, 1935 in Streator to Christian and Anna (Mihalik) Olesen.  He married Marcia Ensign on March 2, 1956.  She passed away January 26, 2015.

Surviving is his son, Edward “Gene” (Jim Stevenson) Olesen of Cleveland, TN, daughter, Tambla (Danny Sass) Olesen of Streator, sister Karen (William) Kruger of Streator and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Ed was preceded in death by his parents and his wife.

He attended Streator grade schools and graduated from Streator High School in 1953.  He formerly worked at King and Hamilton in Ottawa and retired from Owens Illinois Glass in 1994. 

Ed was a former member of the Streator Moose and was a member of the Streator Eagles.  He was a Livingston County 4-H leader for over 25 years. 

He was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Streator.

Memorials may be made in her name to the American Parkinson Disease Association.

We're so sorry... Our thoughts & prayers are with the Olesen family. We wanted to attend the funeral, but Karen's five fractures from biking accident don't allow travel yet. Wish we could have visited with your family -- haven't seen anyone for ages.
