Edward Austin, Jr.

Edward (Man) Austin, Jr., 67 of Streator passed away Tuesday morning (November 8^th) at Heritage Health Care Center in Streator.

A visitation will be held Saturday (Nov. 12^th) from 10AM – 12 Noon at the Winterrowd Funeral Home.  Services will be held on Saturday at 12 Noon at the funeral home with military honors conducted by members of the Streator American Legion and Streator VFW.  Cremation rites will follow services.

Edward was born on June 8, 1949 in Fireco, West Virginia to Edward Kitchen and Viola (Carter) Austin Sr.   

Surviving are sons, James William Duncan of Streator and Jeffrey A. (Georgean) Austin both of Streator, daughter, Renee (Lewis) Berry of Freeport, IL, 6 grandchildren, Lewis and Lynette Duncan, James Feddericke, Lucrecia Berry, Jeffery Austin, Jr. and Zandar Austin, 2 great-grandsons, Tysen Duncan and Ja’Vante Feddericke, brothers, Kenneth (Sandra) Austin of Laurel, MD, Orlando (Donna) Austin of Richmond, VA, Michael  (Mattie) Austin of Charleston, WV, Danny Austin of Gaithersburg, MD and Marion and Freddy Austin both of Beckley, WV, sisters, Lenora Williams of Fort Smith, AK, Annette and Brenda Austin of Beckley, WV, Barbara Portis of Dayton, OH, Lucille (Jessie) Berry, Jr. of Lorain, OH and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, grandson, Matthew Feddericke, brother, Aaron Austin and sister, Maurine Austin.  He was also preceded in death by 1 brother and 5 sisters during birth. 

Edward attended grade school in West Virginia and graduated from Stoco High School in 1967.  He was formerly employed for Santa Fe Railroad and Snap on Tools.  Edward retired from R&R Donnelley after 12 years.  He was of the Baptist faith. 

He served as a Sergeant in the US Air Force.  He was an avid Chicago Bears Fan and loved football.
