Eddie Wilson Turner, 69 of LaSalle passed away Saturday (August 23, 2025) at the OSF St. Elizabeth Medical Center, Peru.
Following cremation, a visitation will be held Friday (Aug. 29th) from 10AM until 12noon at the Winterrowd Funeral Home with services following at noon.
Eddie was born on February 27, 1956, in Chicago to Eddie Lee and Bobbie J. (Horn) Turner. He married Susan Gage on April 7, 2013. She survives.
Also surviving are, Damien (Latonya) Latimore of Forest Park, Tiffany (Derrick) Miller of Birmingham, AL, Amber Hariman, Iowa City, IA, Tracy Hardiman of Iowa City, IA and Anastasia Turner of LaSalle, 14 grandchildren and several great grandchildren, brother Ernie Turner of Chicago, sisters Gloria “Tookie” Walker, Waukegan and Turena Walker of Bartlett.
He is preceded in death by his parents, 2 daughters Nicolette and Angelyn.
Eddie attended Gage Park high School in Chicago, being one of the first 300 black students to attend the school. He retired as a musician with KoKo Taylor, Lonnie Brooks, Buddy Guy, Phil Guy, Chosen Few, Jackie Wilson, Professor Bolues Review, Gloria Hardiman, Eric Clapton, Otis Rush and Steve Freund as a professional drummer since the age of 14.
