Donald F. Reeland

Donald F. (Gert) Reeland Jr., 58 of Streator passed away Thursday (January 5^th) at his home surrounded by his family and friends.

Visitation will be held Monday from 5 – 7 PM and Tuesday from 9:30 – 10:30 at the Winterrowd Funeral Home.  Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 10:30 AM at the funeral home.  Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers will be Leonard, Joseph, John, Chuck and Gary Reeland, Jeff Woodring, Joseph Hirkala, Randy Hollister, Arthur Cronk and Ethan Whalen.  Honorary will be his uncle James McDonald and his friend Edward Kolojay.

Donald was born on August 11, 1958 in Streator to Donald and Judith (McDonald) Reeland. 

He attended Streator schools and was of the Catholic faith.  He owned and operated Toppings Pizzeria, Home of the Wagon Wheel Pizza and Thumbprint cookies.

Don was a member of Lazy Acres.  He also loved fishing, movies, and going to concerts especially to see the Moody Blues.  He enjoyed watching and going to his favorite sports teams from Detroit, the Tigers, Lions and Red Wings. His friend Katie Troccoli has just purchased the Majestic Theater.  Don was so excited about that, because that was one of his most favorite places to be.  His friends are his 2 Boston Terriers, Duce and Bustina.

Don is survived by his sister Susan (Gene) Ahlstrom, brother James Reeland and several nieces, nephews and cousins.  He is also survived by his cousins that he grew up and lived with, Leonard (Jackie), Joseph, John , Chuck and Gary Reeland, Karen Libby, Zelma Logan, Ada (James) Hirkala and Jacqueline Bliss and his very good friends Jeff Woodring, Sharon (the Mom) Elmore and Mary Lee Shobe.

He is preceded in death by his parents and grandparents, uncles Arthur, Leonard (Loretta) Reeland, aunts Irene Cronk and Dorothy Reeland, cousins James and Dorothy Reeland and Hannah Harcar.
