Donald E. Jordan, Sr. 86 of Streator passed away Tuesday evening (January 3, 2023) at OSF St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Ottawa.

Following cremation, a memorial visitation will be held Monday from 10AM – 1PM at the Winterrowd Funeral Home. 

Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery with full military honors conducted by the Streator VFW Post #1492 and Streator American Legion Post #217. 

Don was born on September 24, 1936, in Long Point, IL to William Edward and Gladys Moore (Simpson) Jordan. 

He married Margaret Cooper in 1956.  They later divorced.  He then married Jean Ann Bowman.  She passed away March 1, 2008.  He later married Shirley Phillips on February 25, 2022.   She survives.

Surviving is his wife Shirley Jordan of Streator, children, David (Paula) Crawford of Coal City, Mark (Theresa) Crawford of Streator, Richard (Trisha) Crawford of Lafayette, LA, Galynn Muller of Ottawa, Robert (Kris) Jordan of Streator and Donald (Sherry) Jordan of Indianapolis, IN, daughter-in-law, Lisa Crawford of Streator, 25 grandchildren, Stephanie, Chris, Cheri, Rick, Melanie Cody, Andrea, Adam, Ryan Lindsay, Jessica, Rusty, Randi Lynn, Nathan, Shane, April, Whitney, Jeremy, Jenna, Josh, Grace, Riley, Haley, Benjamin and Molly, 52 great grandchildren and 7 great great grandchildren. 

He is preceded in death by his parents, sons, Charles Jordan and Randy Crawford, grandsons, Jared Jordan and Matthew Crawford, granddaughter, Jordan Yedinak and sister Freda Shoemaker. 

Don attended Long Point grade school and graduated from Long Point High School in 1954 as the Valedictorian of his class.

He served in the U.S. Airforce. 

He owned and operated Jordan’s Auction Service for over 40 years.  Don was a traveling Iron worker for Chicago Bridge and Iron.  Don retired from being a real estate agent. 

He was a member of the Streator Lions Club, Streator Knights of Columbus and Streator Masonic Lodge.  He also served on the LaSalle County Board for over 15 years.
