    Donald D. Carpenter Sr. 83, of Streator passed away Friday morning (Feb. 4th) at his home.
   A visitation will be held on Sunday from 1-5PM at the Winterrowd Funeral Home with a Masonic ritual at 12:45 and Elks ritual at 1:00PM.
   Funeral services will be held on Monday at 11AM at the funeral home with full military honors conducted by members of the Streator American Legion and VFW. Cremation rites will be accorded following services. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be his grandchildren, Bryan, Kevin, Steven, Luke, Lindsey, Lee, James and Scott.
   Donald was born March 26, 1927 in Streator, Illinois to Charles and Goldie (Wilsman) Carpenter.
   He married Wilma Kinkade on April 24, 1948. She survives.
   Also surviving are daughters, Karen (Joseph) Kissel of Glendale, AZ, and Marcia (Michael) Weld of Dana, son, Donald D. (Jane) Carpenter Jr. of Streator, 8 grandchildren, Bryan, Kevin (Greta), and Dr. Steven (Lindsay) Kissel, Luke, Lindsey, and Lee Weld, James and Scott Carpenter, and his twin sister, Donna Friede of Streator.
   He was preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Harold Carpenter.
   Donald was in the U.S. Navy during WWII.
   He retired from Owens' Illinois Glass in June of 1982. He was a member of the Streator Elks Lodge serving as Past Exalted Ruler, Streator Masonic Temple, Shriner's and Streator VFW Post 1492.
   Don graduated from Streator High School and was a member of the First United Methodist Church.
   Memorials may be directed to First United Methodist Church or to the Streator Masonic Temple or Streator Elks Lodge.
