Diane M. (Holohan) Spaniol

Diane M. Spaniol, 78 formerly of Streator passed away Friday evening at her home in Rockford, Michigan.

A visitation will be held Friday from 4 – 7 PM with the rosary recited at 7 PM at the Winterrowd Funeral Home. Mass of Christian burial will be held Saturday at 11 AM at St. Michael the Archangel Church. Burial will be in St. Anthony’s Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers will be her grandsons, Dillion and Mitchell Herried, Bill, George and Kenny Spaniol, Peyton, Parker and Palmer Phillis.
Diane was born on July 31, 1943 in Streator to John and Anna (Meyer) Holohan. She married Keith Spaniol on November 16, 1963. He survives.
Also surviving are her children, Kim (Dean) Herried of Rockford, MI, Keith Raymond (Pam) Spaniol of Sherman and Kristine (Raymond) Phillis of Streator, grandchildren, Dillon, Mitchell, Amanda, Jessica Herried, Bill, George and Kenny Spaniol, Peyton, Klaire, Parker and Palmer Phillis, brother, Jerry (Alta) Holohan, sisters, Sister Doris Holohan, Sister Kathryn Holohan both of Oldenburg, IN and several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Ronald, Jack, William and Leo Holohan, sisters, Mary Harcharick, Helen Marconi, Marcella Orsen, Annette Denko, Rita Green and Sister Cecelia Holohan and Patricia and Michael Holohan in infancy.
Diane attended St. Anthony’s grade School and graduated from Streator High School in 1961. She was a member of the former St. Anthony’s Church and currently St. Michael the Archangel Church, the Altar and Rosary Society and Honor Guard, St. Vincent DePaul and the St. Anthony’s Bakers.
Memorials may be made in her name to St. Michael the Archangel Church.
Diane was known for her baking talents and would bake almost daily. Many people, even strangers, were baked special treats as a Thank You, Thinking of you, or Just because you’re You.
