David L. McCoy Jr.

David Louis McCoy Jr. 58 of Streator passed away Sunday morning (August 16, 2026) at OSF St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria.

Visitation will be held Saturday (Aug. 29th) from 10AM until 12noon at the First United Methodist Church. Services will be held at noon at the church with burial following in Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery.

Serving as honorary pallbearers will be, Harold Hamilton, Damien MacCue, Owen, Neven, David, Samuel, Jonathan McCoy and TJ Dotson

Active pallbearers will be Marshall MacCue, Steve and Steven Carl, Lawrence Summers, James Hayes, Willis, Kenneth and Mason McCoy

Flower bearers will be his nieces and great nieces, Ariana, GraceAnne, Alexandra, Lenee, Aloha, Kaylinn, Gabryella, Annabella, Lilly, Lizzy and Amara

David was born on June 24, 1968, in Streator to David L. McCoy Sr. and Gaylene (Boyles) McCoy.

Surviving is his mother Gaylene MacCue of Streator, siblings, Carrie (Steve) Carl of Streator, Marshall (Noell) MacCue of Streator, Melanie McCoy of Streator, Rachael (Harold) Hamilton of Las Vegas, NV, Willis (Jillian) McCoy of Oglesby and Kenneth (Kirsty) McCoy of Carrollton, IL. Stepmother Aloma McCoy and several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

David is preceded in death by his father, sister Amy Jo in infancy, nephews, Trevor Dotson and Payton McCoy. Also, his grandparents, David and Louise McCoy, Roma and Whitey Hayes and Harlynd and Mary Ann Reynolds.

David attended Streator Grade Schools and graduated from Streator High School in 1987. He was employed with Securitas Security. David was a member of the First United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Men's group, and Christian Ministries group at his church.

Memorials may be directed to the American Kidney Foundation or St. Jude Children's Research.
