Dale Vernon Walter, 79 of Grand Ridge passed away Thursday February 18, 2021 at the LaSalle County Nursing Home.
Visitation will be held Thursday from 11 AM until 1 PM at the Grand Ridge Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 1 PM at the funeral home with social distancing being followed and mask being worn. Burial will be in the Grand Rapids Cemetery, Grand Ridge.
Dale was born on October 13, 1941 in Ottawa to Vernon and Edna (Hallett) Walter.
Surviving are brothers, Dean Walter of Sheridan, Ray (Jane) Walter of Darlington, WI, Carl (Wendi) Walter of Verona, WI, Elmer Walter of Grand Ridge, Kevin Walter of Grand Ridge, Kenneth Walter of Grand Ridge and sister, Janis (Don) Wade of Rushville and several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents and a sister-in-law Rosemary Walter.
Dale graduated from Ottawa Township High School and Bailey Technical School in St. Louis, MO. He was a member of the Grand Ridge United Methodist Church. Dale farmed with his brothers and his passion was farming and attending meetings to keep up with the latest trends and research on farming. He loved telling jokes to family, friends and even strangers.
Memorials may be made in his name to the Grand Ridge Volunteer Fire Department or the Grand Ridge United Methodist Church.
