Dale A. Lesak 79 of Streator entered his final sleep on May 4, 2025.
As per his wishes there will be no funeral ceremonies. Arrangements have been entrusted to Winterrowd Funeral Home. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
Dale was born on August 17, 1945, in Streator to Edward and Violet (Ross) Lesak. He married Sharon “Sherry” Horton on April 24, 1966, in Flanagan, Il.
Dale is survived by his wife Sherry of 59 years, his son Timothy “Tim” (Angie) Lesak, 3 grandchildren Christine “Chrissy”, Cody and Jayme Lesak, a great- granddaughter Lindsay and a bonus daughter Tracy (Ryan) Johnson and his special fur baby Missy.
He is preceded in death by his parents, a brother David, a sister Ruth Ann Bently, and his mother-in-law Edna M. (Horton) Richard.
Dale attended Woodland High School. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam era from 1964 to 1968 aboard two aircraft carriers the USS Coral Sea and the USS Ranger. Dale worked at Star Ford until an accident caused him to retire. Dale enjoyed many things one was roller skating. He and Sherry leased and operated the Paramount Skating Center in Morris until its closing. There he taught speed and artistic skating, having many students win State and regional championships and a few that went on to nationals. He also enjoyed riding his Goldwing motorcycle. He and Sherry started the Roaming Wheels Motorcycle Touring Club. They enjoyed going to other club rallies and poker runs. Their biggest thrill was getting to ride their bikes for 2 laps around the Indianapolis 500 race track each year when they attended the Indiana M C Club rally. Dale also enjoyed fishing and was an avid woodworker.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made in his name to Pet Projects in Marseilles, or to wounded warrior projects.
