Christine M. Barnec

Christine M. Barnec, 62 of Streator passed away Wednesday, (October 18, 2023) at the ARC in Streator.

Following cremation, a visitation will be held Tuesday, (Oct. 24^th) from 11AM until 1PM at the Winterrowd Funeral Home with a celebration of life held at a later date.

Chris was born on December 26, 1960, in Streator to Donald and Elsa (Hau) Gilbert.  She married Randy Barnec on August 22, 1981.  He survives.

Also surviving are daughter Noell (Marshall) MacCue of Streator, son, Donald (Kelle) Barnec of Germany, grandchildren, Robert and Serena Cervantez, great-grandchildren, Marcel and Oakleigh, her mother Elsa Krumscheid of Streator, sisters, Paula (David) Thompson of Wisconsin and Cathy (Raymond) Berry of Streator, brother Rick (Shelly) Krumscheid of Streator and several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her father Donald Gilbert and stepfather Richard Krumscheid, great grandson Julius Cervantez and a sister Laurie Applebee.

Chris attended Streator Grade School and Streator High School.  She was employed for over 30 years at Creditors Discount and Auditor.

Memorials may be made to a charity of the donors choice.
