Catherine L. Ramert

Catherine L. Ramert, 96 of Streator passed away Sunday (June 16, 2019) at the home of her daughter in Bloomington, IL.

A visitation will be held Monday (June 24^th) from 11 AM until 12 noon at the Winterrowd Funeral Home in Streator.  Funeral services will be held immediately following the visitation at the funeral home with Monsignor Phillip Halfacre officiating.  Burial will be in St. Stephen’s Cemetery.

Catherine was born on July 22, 1922 in Streator to Nickolas and Mary Dudak Kristich.  She married Ralph “Bill” Ramert in 1943, he preceded her in death in 1965.

Surviving are Son; Ralph (Betsy) Ramert of Omaha, NB, daughter, Sandra (Ronald) Bays of Bloomington, granddaughters Leigh (Jason) Batten and Lynn (Kyle Young) Ramert, step-grandson; Dan (Sandi) Bays, 1 great grandson Max Batten, 2 step great-grandchildren Connor and Kyle Bays, and sister Mary Ritchie of Las Vegas, NV.

She is preceded in death by her husband, sisters Helen Dorsam and Lucille Schneider, and brother George Kristich.

Catherine attended St. Stephen’s Grade School and was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Church.  She retired from Owens Illinois Glass.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in her name to St. Jude or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
