Carolyn J. Simpson

Carolyn J. Simpson, 77 of Wenona passed away Tuesday (January 20, 2026) at OSF Center for Health, Streator.

A visitation will be held Monday from 10 – 11 AM at the Winterrowd Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11AM at the funeral home with burial following in Riverview Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers will be son, Kenneth Simpson, grandsons, Jesse and Bradley Simpson, Lucas Gaspardo and nephews Doug and Adam Missel.

Carolyn was born on October 11, 1948, in Streator to Henry and Mabel (Spencer) Guy. She married Raymond O. Simpson on August 22, 1970. He preceded in death on January 19, 2011.

Surviving are sons Kenneth Simpson of Wenona and Wes (Michelle) Simpson of Ancona, grandchildren, Miranda (Lucas) Gaspardo, Bradley and Jesse Simpson, great grandchildren, Sara, Hailey, Nathan and Aubrey.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Raymond, brothers, William and Arthur Guys, sisters, Lavonne Irving, Joyce Missel and Florence Grant.

Carolyn attended Streator grade schools and graduated from Streator High School. She was a member of the Central Church of Christ and active with the Vocational Bible School. Carolyn enjoyed playing piano and was a hairdresser.

Memorials may be made to a charity of the donors choice.
