Carol Beatrice Horn (Lawless), age 78, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 27th at Evenglow Memory Care in Pontiac, Illinois. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made to Streator Public Library in her honor.
Carol was born November 23, 1947, in Streator, IL the daughter of Marjorie Horn. Raised in Long Point, IL. She was a graduate of Woodland High School in 1965. After high school she attended MidState College in Peoria, IL. She was a lifelong employee of Streator National Bank (formerly First Midwest Bank) until her retirement.
She is survived by her two daughters; Marci (Greg) Wulzen of Long Point, IL and Jen (Todd) Masching of Pontiac, IL. She is also survived by her 5 grandchildren Bryce Moore of GA, Kamryn Moore of St. Louis, Mya Wulzen of WV, Olivia Masching of Pontiac and Owen Mashing of Pontiac. She is also survived by her sisters Joan (George) Hallam of Streator, and Donna Kelly of LaSalle. Also survived are numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Marjorie, and her brother Ernie.
Carol could be found spending her time reading a James Patterson novel, playing cards with her friends, or playing a mean game of aggravation. She could never go anywhere without running into a friend, bank patron, or anybody else she needed to catch up with. She will be missed deeply by those who loved, and knew, her.
The family would also like to give their thanks to the staff and caretakers at Evenglow for taking such great care of Carol in her final years. And special thanks to Transitions Hospice staff.
