Brian C. Benavides

Brian C. Benavides Sr. 55 of rural Ottawa passed away Sunday morning (May 10, 20206) at his home.

A celebration of his life will be held Saturday (May 23rd) at the Southside Christian Church, Ottawa.

Brian was born on June 7, 1970, in Aurora to Espiridion and Rebecca (Van Buskirk) Benavides. He married Michelle Bolden on June 7, 2002. She survives.

Also surviving are his children, Holly Bolden of Ottawa, Katherine (Darrius Garcia) Bolden of Ottawa and Brian (Nikki Balentine) Benavides of Morris, grandchildren, Jaxon and Landyn Benavides, Andre Bolden, Nichole Garcia (due in August) and McKenna Benson. Also surviving is his father Espiridion Benavides of Aurora, mother, Becky McCoy of Florida, siblings, Francis Paul Perez of Ottawa, Peter Benavides of Ottawa, Mary Perez of Aurora, brother Eric Gunderson of Florida, stepsisters, Mercedes and Grace Perez both of Aurora along with several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by a sister Christi Elizalde.

Brian graduated from West Aurora High School and A.B.C. Trade School as a Electrician. He owned and operated Brian B’s Electric and was the City of Ottawa Electrical Inspector. He was a member of the Southside Christian Church, Ottawa.
