Betty Koval, 91 of Streator passed away Tuesday (June 23, 2026) at her home.
Private family services will be held at the Winterrowd Funeral Home with burial in Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery.
Betty was born on April 10, 1935, in Streator to Matthew and Anna (Leschinsky) Coley. She married Arthur Koval on January 27, 1957. He preceded her in death on December 31, 1992. She later married Irving Stansell on October 10, 2006. He preceded her in death on April 14, 2011.
Surviving are sons, John (Julie) Koval of Streator, Ted (Cathy) Koval of Streator, grandchildren, Crystal Chalkey, Nathan Koval, Jenna and Daniel Koval, step granddaughter Jenny Madison, sister, Maxine Dyas of Streator and several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husbands Arthur and Irving, stepson Terry Koval, brother Matt Coley and sisters, Lucy Lutz and Helen Tkach.
Betty attended Streator Grade Schools and graduated from Streator High School. Betty retired from Redwing and was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church. She enjoyed gardening, attending to her flowers, traveling, and was an avid reader, snowmobiling with the Yellow Streakers, and camping at Bayou Bluffs, Cornell her entire life. Betty loved her dogs and she had them throughout her entire life where she walked 3 miles every morning with her dog
The family would like to thank OSF Hospice and ACES for all of their help and kindness towards Betty.
Above all else, Betty loved her grandchildren and her family and that love remains her greatest legacy.
Memorials may be made in her name to the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church.
