Betty Jean (Leininger) Allen

Betty Jean (Leininger) Allen, 75, of Clinton, Iowa, and formerly of Streator, IL, passed away Thursday evening (January 18, 2024) in Clinton, Iowa at The Alverno.

A visitation will be held Saturday (Jan. 27^th) from 10 am until 12 noon at the Winterrowd Funeral Home in Streator, IL.  Funeral services will be held at 12 noon at the funeral home with burial to follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery.

Betty was born on June 9, 1948, in Streator, IL to Clifford and Dorothy (Fialko) Leininger. She married James Allen on June 1, 1968.  He survives.

Also surviving are sons, Blaine (Erin) Allen of Albany, IL and Tate (Krys) Allen of Rutland, IL, grandchildren Madison, McKoy (Sydney Reichman), Tayli, Harbor, Kylee, and Hadley, special friend Cheyenne, brothers Robert (Dee) Leininger of Streator, Donald Leininger of Fort Mohave, AZ and Richard Leininger of Streator, and a sister Alice (David) Fulks of Downs, IL.

She is preceded in death by her parents, son James and a sister Diana Angelico.

Betty graduated from Streator High School and was formerly employed at C.R. Telephone in Ransom.   She was a member of the 1^st Baptist Church in Dwight. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, puzzles, and reading her Bible. Betty enjoyed displaying her collection of beautiful glass shoes. Above all, she loved spending time with her family. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Betty will be forever loved and remembered for her faith, compassion, and strength.
