Barbara Lee Lowe, 93 of Streator passed away Wednesday morning (May 20, 2026) at the ARC of Streator.
A visitation will be held Tuesday (May 26th) from 10:30AM until 12noon at the Winterrowd Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at noon at the funeral home with Jim Bressner officiating. Burial will be in the Riverview Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers will be, Mark Lowe, Luke Lowe, Nick Sizemore, Ben Bodznick, and Jerry Redman.
Barbara was born on October 8, 1932, in Fairfield, IL to Irven and Mary (Wagner) Hurt. She married Kenneth Lowe on August 24, 1952. He preceded her in death on October 14, 2004.
Surviving are, son Mark (Jane) Lowe of Streator, a special niece, Holly (Jim) Bressner of Streator, grandchildren, Zack Lowe of Tokyo, Japan, Luke Lowe of Springfield, Emma (Nick) Sizemore of Mackinaw, 6 great grandchildren, Hadley, Jaylin, Adalayde, Goerge, Josephine and Jackson, sisters, Marilyn (Ken) Vogus of Yorkville, Linda (Bob) Payton of Rochelle and Karen Haiman of Rochelle and several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Kenneth, grandson Mark Lowe, brothers Donald and Kenneth Hurt, sisters Eva Lowe, Louetta Jean Hurt in childhood and brother William Myron Hurt in infancy.
Barbara graduated from Fairfield High School in 1950. She retired from Owens Illinois Glass and was a member of the Prairie Creek Fellowship Church (formerly the Primitive Methodist Church) where she taught Sunday school for many years. She loved to travel with her husband, enjoyed painting, sewing and being with family.
Memorials may be made in her name to the Prairie Creek Fellowship Church c/o 1016 N. Wasson St. Streator, IL or the Streatorland Historical Society.
