Alice Ruth Perry

Alice R. Perry, age 86, of Streator, Illinois passed away on Saturday, April 26, 2025, at a private care home in Streator. We are deeply grateful for the care and compassion shown by Robin Turner over the past 5 years.

Alice was born on August 15, 1938, in Streator, Illinois. She was the daughter of George and Mabel (Ahrens) Tomasko Sr. Alice married Wayne Perry on April 10, 1960, at Grace United Methodist Church in Streator. He preceded her in death on November 28, 2020. She is survived by her three daughters: Janet (Daryl) Larson of Streator, JoAnn (Kevin) Jacobs of Luana, IA, and Jennifer (Michael) Colter of Streator. She also leaves eight grandsons: Brandon Larson, Brett (Stacia) Larson, Benjamin (Casey) Jacobs, Joshua (Megan) Jacobs, Nicholas (Jillian Fisher) Jacobs, Samuel Jacobs, Logan (Kayla) Colter, and Noah Colter; Three great-grandchildren, Parker Larson, Trevor Larson, and Bayler Jacobs; Brothers-in-law and Sisters-in-law Barbara Tomasko of Streator, Suzanne Tomasko of Claremore, OK, Gladys Perry of Streator, Ivan and Barb Perry of Blackstone, and Larry Perry of Streator; along with many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by brothers, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: George Tomasko Jr., Norman (Carol) Tomasko, Robert Tomasko, Raymond Tomasko, Art (Faye) Perry, and Kathleen Perry.

She graduated from Streator High School in the Class of 1956. After many years of being a mother and homemaker, she entered the workforce. She worked for 17 years at Kroger until retiring in 1996. One of her great joys was her church. She especially enjoyed singing in the choir. Above all, her greatest joy was spending time with her grandsons!

Alice was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, who incredibly loved her family. Her infectious smile and warm personality will be deeply missed.

Funeral services will be held at Noon on Saturday May 3, 2025, with a visitation to precede the service from 10:00 - Noon at Winterrowd-Hagi Funeral Home. Pastor Paul Arnold from First United Methodist Church of Streator will serve as the officiant. Interment will follow at Phillips Cemetery. Pallbearers will be her grandsons.
