Agnes C. Zion

Agnes C.  Zion, 101, of Streator passed away Monday morning (October 29, 2018) at Heritage Health in Streator.

A visitation will be held Friday from 9:30 AM-11:30 AM at Winterrowd Funeral Home. 

Funeral Mass will be held on Friday at 12 Noon at St. Michael the Archangel Church. 

Burial will be in St. Stephen’s Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers will be Hudson and Grayson Dutko and Sam and Luke Petrik.  Pallbearers will be Gerald and Jerry Dutko, Justin Zion, Kirt Behrens, Michael Petrik and Kevin Winstead.

Agnes was born on August 12, 1917 in Streator to Joseph and Mary (Ondrey) Mehall.  She married Louis Anthony Zion, Sr.  on June 18, 1935.  He passed away December 7, 1979. 

Surviving is daughter, Cindy (Gerald) Dutko of Streator, 3 daughters-in-law, Shirley Zion of Denton, TX, Nan Zion of Sterling and Gloria Morgan of Richardson, TX, 10 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and 1 great-great granddaughter, sisters, Delores Bee of Seattle, WA and Bernice Andron of Santa Barbara, CA.

Agnes is preceded in death by her husband, sons, Louis Jr., Daniel and Dr. Richard Zion, brothers, Joseph, John, Ralph, Lawrence and Tim Mehall and sisters Ann Soltis, Mary Johnson, Vern Collner, Lucille Robertson and Leona Wilkinson. 

She was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Church and a member of the PNA. 

Agnes attended Streator grade schools.  She formerly was a sales clerk at Opdycke’s Clothing Store and lastly at Ace Harware.
