Lois V. Overocker, 85 of Streator passed away Wednesday morning (June 6th) at Heritage Health.
Visitation will be held Saturday from 1 – 2 PM at the Church of the Nazarene.. Funeral services will be held at 2 PM at the church. Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park.
The Winterrowd Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Serving as pallbearers will be grandsons, Brett Hart, Jeff Hansen, Edward and Travis Handzus, Travis Osenkarski and nephew John Littrell. Honorary will be Peter Allison, Derek Hart and Richard Zameda.
Lois was born November 9, 1932 in Mendon, Missouri to John Oliver and Onedia (Scott) Littrell. She married Jack Overocker on February 14, 1951. He preceded her in death on October 28, 2000.
Surviving is a daughter Jackie (Peter) Allison of Lostant, “Summer son” Richard Zameda of Florida, daughter in law, Millie Overocker of Streator, 4 grandchildren, 3 step-granddaughters, 8 great-grandchildren and 1 due in November, 6 step-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren and a sister Shirley Fry of Mendon, Missouri
Lois is preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Richard Kelly Overocker, great-grandson Jared, sister Bettie Jo Arp, brother Wilbur Littrell and brother in law Claude Fry.
She graduated from Mendon High School in 1950, and retired after 31 years from Owens Illinois Glass, member of the Church of Nazarene where she taught Sunday school for many years. Lois enjoyed camping and watching the Chicago Cubs, White Sox’s, Cardinals and the Kansas City Royals baseball teams.
Her great love was for her grandchildren, family and her Lord and Savior.
