Janice E. Hamilton, 82 of Ancona passed away Monday (March 25, 2019) at her home.
Visitation will be held Thursday (March 28th) from 5 – 7 PM and Friday (March 29th)from 10 – 11 AM at the Winterrowd Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Friday (March 29th) at 11 AM at the funeral home. Burial will be in Defenbaugh Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers will be, Josh Foxhoven and James Carpenter, Gene McMullen, Tom Decker, Austin Cole and Rob Gass. Honorary will be brother-in-law Marion Johnson.
Janice was born on October 15, 1936 in Streator to Ralph and Dorothy (Wreith) Walters. She married Elmer “Gene” Hamilton on January 8, 1956. He preceded her in death on April 23, 2018.
Surviving are son Jeff (Paula) Hamilton of Streator, granddaughters, Carleigh (Josh) Hamilton-Foxhoven and Whitney (James) Carpenter, great-grandson Brixton Jeffrey Foxhoven and baby Carpenter due in May, sister; Carol Lesak of Ancona and several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Richard in infancy, twin sister Joyce Johnson and a brother Ralph Walters.
Janice graduated from the Long Point High School. She was formerly employed at Owens Illinois Glass and Weavers Chicken. Janice was a member of the Red Hat Society, Elks Lodge 591, a quilting group, Long Point American Legion and the Livingston County 4-H where she was a judge at the fair and a election judge for many years.
