Myrtle L. Conner, 78 of Streator passed away Tuesday morning (November 21st) at Heritage Health and Rehabilitation Care Center.

A visitation will be held Saturday from 1 – 2 PM at the Winterrowd Funeral Home.  Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 PM at the funeral home with cremation rites following services.

Myrtle was born on December 10, 1938 in Wenona to Amiel and Ethel (Daws) Majesky.  She married Donald Conner on June 6, 1964 in Streator.  He survives.

Also surviving are several nieces and nephews along with several great-nieces and nephews and great-great-nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, brothers Paul, Tom and Amiel Jr., sisters Ruth Cox and Lillian Majesky.

Myrtle attended Streator High School and was a housekeeper for many years in Streator. 

Myrtle was legally blind at an early age but this did not keep her from doing the things she loved to do.  She was very good at playing the guitar and loved to write her own songs and sing.  She would use a magnifying glass to draw and paint.  Myrtle made a carousel horse out of paper machete and hand painted it. She wrote articles that were published in the Arabian Horse News Magazine and Arabian Horse World Magazine.  Myrtle was known for getting around town on her horse because she could not drive.  She loved to sit on her front porch with the loves of her life Don and her kitty’s enjoying the wonders of nature and specially the birds and the deer and she was a big fan of the Chicago Cubs.

Memorials may be made to her family to determine a charity at a later date
